Quinta da Montanha

Perched on a ridge in Rui Vaz with spectacular views, Quinta da Montanha is right in the heart of the mountains.

The Quinta is an excellent base for walking and exploring – it’s not an upmarket hotel but does have comfortable and simple en-suite rooms. Ten are in the main house and eighteen newer rooms can be found in the annex. Some have balcony views of the valley.

Due to its remote location, we will always include dinner which is simple and often buffet style.

There are several good walks in the area, but to get the most out of them we recommend using one of our local guides. It’s a great place for spotting birds of prey and kingfishers. As it’s in the mountains the evenings can be cool, so don’t forget to bring some warmer clothing with you.
