The Hotel Oasis Atlantico Praiamar is a low-rise hotel occupying a headland in Prainha, Praia’s embassy district. It’s part of a Portuguese hotel chain and with its good standards and decent range of facilities, it’s most likely the first hotel you will be staying in when you arrive on the island of Santiago.
The hotel has 123 rooms, including four suites. One room is adapted for those with limited mobility. Connecting rooms are also available and a baby cot or extra bed can be provided in any of the rooms. All rooms have king size beds, air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, room safe, minibar and hairdryer.
You certainly shouldn’t miss the most amazing spread that is laid out for breakfast in the Atlantico restaurant, which at night is the setting for a variety of cuisines: Cape Verdean, Portuguese and international. You can also dine at the Pool Bar, which is the venue for a leisurely Sunday buffet and often accompanied by some live music. The Panorama Bar serves cocktails and Cape Verde’s signature drink, grogue, with wonderful sea views and music adding to the relaxed atmosphere.
As well as the swimming pool and children’s pool, which are open all year, there’s a sauna, jacuzzi, gym and tennis court. In addition, there is the possibility of relaxing with a massage (extra charge).
The reception is 24-hour, and laundry facilities and currency exchange are available. Guests can access the internet through a terminal in reception and free WiFi is also available.
