The Casamarel

The Casamarel is a lovely, recently restored house with stunning views of Mindelo city and its bay.

It was originally built by one of  Mindelo’s oldest families and consists of a series of suites on several levels. Due to its tiered architecture, all rooms have balconies – except for its standard suites.

There’s an on-site restaurant and bar that serves home-cooked meals of locally-sourced ingredients. Or for a lighter meal, there’s always excellent tapas.

The hotel promotes sustainable tourism by using solar energy and also has a salt-water swimming pool and a water-saving system.

The Casamarel (which means yellow in Creole) only has ten rooms. So if you want to stay at this wonderful place, we recommend booking well in advance to avoid any disappointment!
