Overview

Much love and care has gone into the restoration and decoration of the Migrante Guesthouse.

Situated in the old quarter of Sal Rei, just to the west of the town square, it’s a few minutes’ walk to the town beach.

The guesthouse uses renewable energy and local products wherever possible, as part of its commitment to responsible tourism.

The handsome, colonial-era architecture is enhanced by beautifully painted window shutters. Inside the old stone walls of the building, there is a pleasant and spacious bar area and an attractive internal courtyard which adds to the character. Rooms are on a bed and breakfast basis and evening meals are available if requested in advance.

The bedrooms are tastefully decorated with wooden floors and high-quality furniture and fittings. All rooms are en suite with hot water and each is cooled with a ceiling fan.

Guests can make use of the guesthouse’s small, multilingual library. The staff are attentive and will help you with your holiday needs on Boavista.

Location

Boavista is an island of sand. The white sand beaches are stunning and the Estoril dunes are so big you feel you can ski down them! Hire a jeep and head inland to explore the island deeper. The capital, Sal Rei, is laid back and during the day you'll find most locals either in the main square buying and selling their produce or down at the harbour tending their fishing boats and nets, playing a game of cards or enjoying a swim. There are a number of restaurants and cafés off the main square and the town really livens up in the evenings and the melodic songs of the Morna fills the warm air.
