Overview

Our Cape Verde Diving Holiday on Sal in one week is the perfect opportunity to learn how to dive and explore the colourful underwater world.

We’ve suggested that you spend the week at the wonderful Hotel Morabeza on Sal. The hotel is located just 50 metres from the dive centre where you will go out for the 10 dives we’ve included during your stay. The dive school is PADI accredited, well equipped, and can cater for all diving abilities from beginners to advanced. We also offer various dive courses from a Discover Scuba day to PADI Open Water and Rescue Diver.

During your Cape Verde diving holiday on Sal, you’ll be able to choose from 16 different dive sites including caves, wrecks, rocky platforms and sandy seabeds. The marine life is fantastic: turtles, sharks, pufferfish, trumpet fish, moray eels, and manta rays.

If you are more experienced and are looking for something different then we also offer diving trips from the islands of São Vicente or Santiago. Due to the strong currents, São Vicente and Santiago are for divers who already have plenty of dive time logged in a variety of places and conditions.

Itinerary

Day 1

Depart Gatwick on a direct flight to Sal in Cape Verde. On arrival transfer to the relaxed and friendly Hotel Morabeza where you'll stay for seven nights. The small town of Santa Maria has a great variety of restaurants and bars and in the evening the mains street and the newly built square with its fountains attract a lot of tourists and locals.

Day 2

The Morabeza is right on the famous Santa Maria beach - opposite is the dive school where you will meet your instructor to plan the timing of your 5 days diving, with 2 dives per day.

Day 3

Meet your instructor at the dive school opposite your hotel for two more dives. There are quite a few dive sites to choose from and you can chat with your instructor to select a site depending on the conditions and your abilities.

Day 4

Meet your instructor at the dive school opposite your hotel for two more dives. Today you could be seeing turtles, puffer fish, trumpet fish, moray eels and manta rays to name but a few.

Day 5

Meet your instructor at the dive school opposite your hotel for two more dives.

Day 6

Your last opportunity to go diving with your instructor. If you enjoyed your diving in Sal, you may consider returning to Cape Verde and try some diving on the islands of Sao Vicente of Santiago.

Day 7

Free day to relax or you could explore the rest of the island and visit the salt pans at Salinas (where you can have a dip in the salty water, Buracona's black lava rock natural swimming pool and the nearby 'blue eye', and underground pool. Or hire an electric bike and cycle to Kite Beach, a small shallow reef and very popular with kite surfers, because of its strong winds.

Day 8

Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
