Overview

Our Cape Verde island-hopping family adventure in 9 days is ideal for families looking to explore the islands.

You start on Boavista, known for its golden beaches and turquoise waters. There will be plenty of opportunity to enjoy splashing about in the waves and you might choose to join a boat excursion, to explore some of the beautiful bays, snorkel off the boat and eat some delicious grilled fish. Depending on when you visit, you may spot a pod of dolphins, or even a whale! You can take a tour of the island to visit its famous pottery and marvel at the starkness of Deserto de Viana, a white sandy desert at the northern end of the island.

On Sao Vicente, you take a guided walking tour of the area, walk around the charming streets of Mindelo and learn how they make guitars at a workshop. You visit fish markets and explore the island on a jeep tour.

A one hour ferry crossing takes you to Santo Antao. You will be met by your English-speaking guide, who will take you walking for the two days. Remember, like all of our itineraries, we can tailor your holiday to suit you and plan your walks based on your preferred length of day. The walks we’ve suggested pass through dramatic peaks and lush valleys and our times are based on a relaxed pace, with plenty of amazing places to stop and take pictures.

Travelling between the islands is a highlight of this adventurous island hopping journey. Turbo-prop planes, local ferries, and open-top jeeps will make your family holiday even more unforgettable.

Without a doubt, it’s a Cape Verde island-hopping family adventure you will remember forever!

After breakfast, you will be picked up for your private guided tour of the island, visiting Boavista's old capita Rabil with its famous pottery, and the oldest church on the island Sao Roque.
