Close to one of the most beautiful beaches on the north coast of Santiago island, in a small town called Tarrafal, is where you can find Villa Strela.
This small B&B has en-suite rooms (some with sea views), A/C, and a balcony. You can use the luxurious communal kitchen that has been kitted out with utensils and pans to use for free. Outside in the garden you’ll find a small pool and BBQ facilities.
It’s a great base if you want to do some walking in nearby Serra Malagueta Natural Park, want to climb Santiago’s highest peak Pico d’Antonio (1392m) or like to visit the African market in Assomada. Nearby, Tarrafal’s pretty cove with its beautiful white sandy beach, is perfect for sun bathing, snorkelling and swimming and a popular weekend spot for local people.
Tarrafal has one of the best dive sites of Cape Verde and divers staying at the Villa have plenty of storage space for their diving equipment.
Popular with locals, who want to escape hectic Praia, the peaceful and quieter north of Santiago is perfect if you want to re-energise or use it as a base for diving and walking activities.
The Villa is an ideal base for diving and walking activities. We can recommend a dive school if you are interested, and can also organise walks in the area, varying from easy strolls along the coast, to harder walks in the nearby Serra Malagueta Natural Park .
